Horse racing is an equestrian sport that has been practiced for over a period of years. It is inextricably associated with gambling. It is also a major international industry, watched in almost every nation of the world.

There are different methods of horse racing and here are some:

1.) Harness racing-this horse racing form evolved from the chariot races of old. Usually, this type of horse racing involves horses pulling the jockey on a two-wheeled cart. Another distinction of this type of horse racing is that the horses are being performed in a particular process. Unlike horse racing, horse racing form this strategy calls for increased speed. Since all horses move with the same tools, tactics are needed to win.

There are two types of horse racing form based on this method:

a) The stimulation-in this approach, the horse moves his legs sideways. This means that the right front hind legs touching the ground at the same time. The stimulation is harness races today. It's morepopular due to the fact that stimulation is the most exciting variety of this form of horse racing.

The pace, the horses can run faster and more natural approach for them. For this reason, there are fewer interruptions during a race. When a hose breaks or starts to gallop step, slow down until they canwalk again.

b) Jogging-In this variety of horse racing form, horses move the legs diagonally, which means that the right front leg and the left leg behind the attack on the ground simultaneously.2.)

2.)Thoroughbred Racing- is themost popular of all forms of competition. Thoroughbed racing is often reffered to as the sport of kings. Many people attend races with hopes of parts of your money on good horses and win more money. It is the most exciting form of competition. Although the “initial excitement is provided by the fact that the horses competing in this horse racing form are faster than others. It is explained by the fact that there is a greater amount in question. This amount plus the cash is actualy caused by the fact that people like to watch horse racing more thanany other horse racing form.

Whatever methods and form of horse racing itdoes have the most important thing is that. Joining a horse racing sport needs a lot of training and requires a big amount of expense in order to master this. This is the sport where many people engage their money. Shot Put

This kind of sport sounds unfamiliar to me. Every time they talk about this sport I did not even give interest with it because I have no knowledge about this. Till such time come that I watched an Olympics and saw this game and I got interested.

The shot put is a tract and field event involving “putting” (throwing in a pushing motion) a heavy metal ball (called the shot) as far as possible. It is common to use the term “shot put" to refer to both the shot itself and the throwing motion.

There are two basic methods for throwing the shot put. The “spin” or “rotation” technique is the more complex method. The “glide” technique is more commonly-used and, with its linear movement through the throwing circle, is easier for beginners to learn. The following guide offers the basic elements of the glide technique.

*Place the shot on the base of your fingers-not in the palm-and spread your fingers slightly.

*Push the shot firmly against your neck, under the chin. Your thumb should be under the shot with your throwing elbow pointed outward, away from your body. Your throwing arm should beat about a 45-degree angle to the ground.

*Stand at the back of the circle, facing away from the direction of your throw. A right-handed thrower should place the right foot near the back edge of the circle, with the left leg extended forward.

*Keeping most of your weight on your right foot, bend your knees as if you were moving back into a seated position, while drawing your left leg back so the toes of your left foot line up with the heel of your right.

*Extend your left leg toward the target area and push off with your right foot, “gliding” to the front of the circle while keeping your center of mass low. Your weight should be on your right leg and your right knee should be bent approximately 75 degrees.

*The thrower should now be in the “power position,” with feet shoulder width apart, left arm extended from the body and knees bent.

*Keep your right elbow up as you shift your left to the left. Straighten your left leg as you rotate your hips so they’re square to the target.

*Keeping your left side firm, punch your arms upwards and complete the throw with a flip of your wrist and a strong follow through.

*Remember, your throw’s power begins in your legs and flows upward through your hips, back and arm.

Try to play this sport and I know you will enjoy this.

Basketball: Most Viewed Sport

Basketball is one of my favorite sport. When I watch basketball in a television, I can always remember Michael Jordan, one of the most famous basketball player in the NBA. He is famous throughout the whole world. Maybe because he is really a very excellent player and he knows almost of the techniques in this game. But why is basketball game so interesting, why is it that almost of the people loved this sport? We know that this is a widely viewed sport in the world.

Basketball was invented by Dr. James Naismith a teacher at the YMCA International training school in Massachusetts. He wanted to relive the boredom of his studnts during winter physical education classes. He had 2 fruit baskets nailed to both ends of a gym, found a soccer ball and set out some rules which are some of the basic rules today. Dr. Naismith was born in Canada in 1861, and lived long enough to see the game he invented for the first time. The first game was played in a basement gymnasium. There was a stepladder to retrieve the ball from the fruit basket.teams had nine players. By 1897-1898, teams of five became standard. The game rapidly spread nationwide and to Canada and other parts of the world, played both men and women; it also became a popular informal indoor game. U.S. Servicemen in World War II (1939-1945) popularized the sport in many other countries.

Basketball is a team sport in which two teams of five players try to score points by throwing or shooting a ball through the top of a basketball hoop while following a set of rules.

The rules of a basketball are the rules and regulation that govern the play, officiating equipment and procedures of a basketball. Most leagues, including the NBA, govern their own rules. In addition, the Technical Commission of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) determines rules for international play.

The most recent international rulesof a basketball were approved on 26 April 2008 by FIBA and became an effective as of October 1, that year.

There are 8 rules encompassing 50 articles, covering equipment and facilities, regulations regarding teams, players, captains and coaches, playing regulations, violations, fouls and their penalties, special situations, and the officials and table officials. The rules also cover officials' signals, the scoresheet, protest procedure, classification of teams and television time outs.

This is the sport which attracts the attention of almost all the peole all over the world. Not only that, every country adopted this sport and they have their own association when it comes to this sport. Discus Throw Game and Techniques

I got interested in this sport because my son is a player of this. Every time my son would ask a question regarding this sport I can't answer him automatically due to the fact that even I myself donot know this sport. This is also one of the reason why I searched over for this and decided to add this article in my Sports talk blog.

The discus throw is an event in tract and field athletics competition, in which an athlete throws a heavy disc called a “discus” in an attempt to mark a farther distance than his or her competitors.

Here are some discus throw techniques:

Grip:
Put your non-throwing beneath the discus for support. Your throwing hand (including the thumb) is on top of the discus with your fingers evenly spread. The top knuckle of your fingers (not the thumb) should touch the rim, with your fingertips over the sides. An alternative to place the index and middle fingers together while evenly spacing the remaining fingers.

Stance:
Face away from the target. Stand in the back of the ring with your feet wider than shoulder width apart and your knees and waist slightly bent.

Wind up:
Hold the discus high in front of the left shoulder. Swing it back to the right shoulder level. This action can be repeated once or twice, if necessary, to establish a rhythm.

Starting the throw:
Rotate clockwise, bringing the discus as far back as you can, holding it in your throwing hand only. Your non-throwing should be pointed in the opposite direction as your throwing arm. Keep your throwing hand as far from your body as possible throughout the throw. Your weight is on your right foot. Your left heel is off the ground.

Beginning the turn to the right center of the ring:
Begin rotating your shoulders in the direction of the throw as you shift your weight to your left foot, then pick your right foot up and swing it around the left. Pivot on the ball of your leg foot as you spin toward the center of the ring.

Completing the turn to the center of the ring:
Just before your right foot lands in the center of the ring, push off with your left foot and continue pivoting toward the front of the ring.

Turn to the power position:
Pivot on your right foot, swinging to the left leg to the front of the ring. Your left foot should land outside of the right.

Power position:
Your left side is planted and firm, with your left arm pointing forward. Your weight is shifting from your right side to your left. Your throwing arm is behind you, outstretched, with the discus at about a hip level.

Release:
Continue shifting your weight forward as you pivot your hips. Bring your arm up at approximately a 35 degree angle to release the discus. The discus should leave your hand smoothly of f the index finger with your hand at about a shoulder height.

This techniques which I've searched from the internet did help me a lot with my son. Thanks for the resources where I got some of the informations.

World's Famous Single Sport

Eventhough were sisters but when it come to sports we have different favorite. My younger sister being next to me really loved this sport, she even go to the house of her friend just to play ping pong or table tennis. When she was in high school she was one of the player of table tennis.

Table tennis, also known as ping pong, is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight, hollow ball back and forth with rackets. The game takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Except for the initial serve, players must allow a ball played toward them only one bounce on their side of the table and must return it so that it bounces on the opposite side. This game can be played indoors or outdoors. Points are scored when a player fails to return the ball within the rules. Play is fast and demands quick reactions. A skilled player can impart several varieties of spin to the ball, altering its trajectory and limiting an opponent's options to great advantage.
Table tennis is the most popular racket sport in the world, with over 300 million active members of governing associations worldwide. The game is controlled by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), founded in 1926. Since 1988, table tennis has been an Olympics which includes four events categories. From 1988 until 2004, these were: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles and women's doubles. Since 2008 the doubles have been replaced by the team events.

Scoring
A match is played best 3 of 5 games (or 4/7 or 5/9). For each game, the first player to reach 11 points wins that game, however a game must be won by at least a two point margin.
A point is scored after each ball is put into play (not just when the server wins the point as in volleyball).

The edges of the table are part of the legal table surface, but not the sides.

Flow of the Match
Each player serves two points in a row and then switch server. However, if a score of 10-10 is reached in any game, then each server serves only one point and then the server is switched. After each game, the players switch side of the table. In the final game (ie 5th game), the players switch side again after either player reaches 5 points.

Legal Service
The ball must rest on an open hand palm. Then it must be tossed up at least 6 inches and struck so the ball first bounces on the server's side and then the opponent's side.
If the serve is legal except that it touches the net, it is called a let serve. Let serves are not scored and are reserved.

Equipment
The paddle should have a red and a black side. The ball should be either orange or white and 40 mm in size. The table should be 2.74 meters long, 1.525 m wide, and 0.76 m high.
Each of have different favorite sports which we even ourselves always want to master it. Whatever ever it is, like ping pong (table tennis) we need a constant practice in order to perfect the game.

Bowling: Recreational Exercise

Some people spend their leisure time in playing bowling. They love the sport bowling because for them playing bowling is a sort of an exercise. It helps burn calories and works muscle groups not usually exercised. That is why they spend their time in a recreation center just to play bowling.

Bowling is a sport in which players attempt to score points by rolling a bowling ball along a flat surface, usually a wooden or synthetic surface, either into pins or to get close to a target ball.

There are different kinds of equipments in bowling:

Ball
Bowling balls vary from game to game. Ten-pin balls are large, up to 2.25 feet around (approximately 4.8 inches across), and have three finger holes arranged triangularly for the ring finger, middle finger and the thumb. The balls come in various weights as high as 16lbs, with the size and spacing of the finger holes often smaller on lighter balls to accommodate smaller hands. Balls for other games can vary, candlepin balls fitting in the palm of the hand, needing no holes.

Shoes
Bowling shoes possess an intermediate style between regular dressing shoes and the athletic type. The sole of the non sliding foot is generally made of rubber similar to that of a basketball sneaker to create stability, while the sliding foot is made of a much softer material that allows a bowler to slide into his release. These shoes can be bought, but they are normally rented.

Gloves
A bowling glove is a glove with a metal wrist support and a textured face that offers support in order to enhance grip. There are different glove styles, including those with a full metal finger design and ones with an uncovered portion for the middle and ring fingers.

Bowling Rules and Regulations:
*Keep your body behind the foul line when throwing the ball. If any part of the body encroaches on the foul-line area, a penalty will be called and the pin count from the throw will b mark as zero.

Swimming, Most Healthful Sport

Many people from different walks of life loves swimming. When I was still in my elemnetary grades my cousins and I used to go to the beach just to practice swimming until it became our daily habbit. Every morning we go to the beach and there we do have some swimming contest. It is there where I learned how to swim. As we do this we never thought that swimming is a healthful sport. We did this just as a sort of a game.

Swimming is one of the most healthful sport. Nearly every muscles of the body is used and regular practice helps a person develop coordination and strength. The best place to learn swimming is in a pool, where supervision and coaching are easiest. The first thing a beginner should learn is how to float and thread water. Floating allows a swimmer t ostay on top of the water with little or no effort, and it is necessary when swimming long distances. Treading water is something like walking in deep water.

The aquatic sport of swimming is based on the human act of swimming, that is locomotion in water by self propulsion, with the goal of competing a given distance in the shortest amount of time.

There are different kinds of strokes in swimming and these different kinds of strokes will be able to exercise the whole part of your body thus becoming it a healthful sport.

The different strokes in swimming are:
Butterfly Stroke: it is the toughest and the most exhausting swimming stroke, encompassing windmill like arm movements and dolphin kick. While performing this stroke competitively, the swimmer should avoid underwater swimming.
Breast Stroke: this is one among the different swimming strokes that involves arm movements on the front side, from your head to shoulder level. It is the frog kick that can be associated with this stroke. The swimmer should keep his/her head above the water surface, while carrying out this swim stroke.
Crawl: flutter kick and alternating over arm movements are the features that characterize crawl-swimming stroke. While doing crawling, the swimmer has to keep his head in the water, alternating the face side.
Sidestroke: scissors kick is a distinguished feature that explains the movements of sidestroke. This underwater stroke involves the pushing of your body in the forward direction, keeping your body on one side.
Backstroke: this stroke involves alternate over the head arm movements and flutter kick.
Freestyle swimming: it gives you the liberty to use any swimming stroke you want to, while carrying out your swimming workout session.
Dog paddle: it is one of the simplest swimming strokes, making use of modified flutter kick. In dog paddling, your forward motion takes place with your arms underwater.

If you love swimming, continue with it. It will help you to become healthy and physically fit.

Billiard My Favorite Sport

Wayback to my college life, one of the favoritesport my friends enjoyed is the billiard. We spent our leisure time playing billiard. I haven't remember of the time that we went out to attend a party or to join in whatever social gatherings other classmates would do. One thing that I can only remember is the place where we use to go during our vacant periods. The recreation hall (billiard house). We stay them for more than 2 hours just to enjoy that kkind of sport.

Billiard is being played with one red ball and two white cue balls, one with the small black spot and one without.

A double game is occassionally played but the game is ussually singles. One player chooses to play with the white cue blue and the other spotted white cue ball. To begin with, a players play their cue ball from within the D down the table so that it bounces back up the table and comes to rest in a baulk. The player whose ball is the closest to the baulk cushion chooses to go first or second. Most player prefers to go second because the first turn occurs with the only two balls on the table
-a severe limitation.

The game start with the red ball on it's spot and the cue ball of the player placed in the D at the front of the table. Players agree how many points will constitute a ganme and the objective is merely to be the first to score than number. A typical number for expert players might be 1000 points-professionals regularly score more than this in a single break. Beginners might consider 150 as more appropriate target.

Each turn is called a “break” and consists of a series of strikes of the cue ball that come to an end when a player makes a non-scoring strike or foul stroke. Scoring is achieved by “potting” balls, by “cannons” and by going “in off”. A ball is “potted” when a cue ball knocks it into a pocket. A “cannon” is when the cue ball strikes first one ball and then the other. A player's ball goes “in off” when it falls into a pocket having first “kissed” (struck) another ball.

Whenever the redf ball is spotted, itr is immediately return to the red spot for the next strilke. Whenever the cue ball goes in off, it bis immediately return to the player who can position it anywhere within the D for the next strike. If the opponent ball id spotted, it remains out of play until the end of that players break. In this case, the opponent starts the next turn by striking the ball from wherever it ends up. Potting the opponents ball is usually to be avoided since scoring is much harder with only two balls on the table

a fowl occurs when a player balls hit the other balls in which case 1 point is added to the opponents score or when the player's ball goes directly into the pocket without hitting any other ball whereupon 3 points are given to the opponent.

We really enjoy playing billiard throughout the entire period of time.

The World's Best Boxers

Did you know that I have discovered the World's Best Boxers? They are not human beings, they are just God's creature who also love boxing , that's why they are also joining the boxing federation, not of human but of kangaroos. I conclude that they are the best boxers, eventhough they are just animals they are also trying their best on how to knockout the opponents.

Have you ever seen the kangaroo playing boxing? I know that almost of you has already visited the youtube. It is an enjoyable sport played by these creature. Like humans they know how to defend themselves to stay away from every punch. Through this sport that they are engage in, they entertain people and people enjoy watching them doing this. Why is it that they know this sport, who trained them?

Credit:  http://www.adnaan.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/boxing-kangaroo.jpg

The idea of boxing kangaroo originates from the animals defensive behaviour, in which it will use it's smaller forelegs to (it's arms) to hold an attacker in place while using the claws on it's larger hind legst try to kick, slash or disembowel them. This stance gives the impression that the kangaroo appears to be “boxing” with it's attacker.

Kangaroo are shy and retiring by nature, and in normal circumstances present no threats to humans. Male kangaroos often box amongst each other, playfully, for dominance, or in competition for mates. That is where they learn their sport.

Do you want to be kangaroos boxing coach or you want to be coached by the kangaroo in boxing sport? Whatever it is, there is only one thing that we should be thankful for. We should be thankful to God for giving us this creature who gives us enjoyment and we should learn to take care of them not to abuse them for they are a kind of creatures that is human friendly. Just be careful that they won't box you....

VolleyBall: A Satisfying Sport

I can still remember when I was in highschool that I used to play volleyball because this is my favorite sport. I love serving the ball down to the receiving team. I like this sport because it gives less effort in running but what is important is that you know how to keep your eyes to the ball and be sure to hit the ball directly to the receiving team. If you're the one to receive the ball be sure that it should not touch the ground and hit it back to the receiving team.

Credit: http://www.onlineticketsusa.com/images/olympics/olympic-Volleyball-image.jpg

Volleyball is a teamsport played by two teams of six players that are in a playing court divided by a net. The object of the game is for each team to send the ball regularly over the net to ground it on the opponents court, and to prevent the ball from being grounded in it's own court. The ball is get into play by the right back-row player who serves the ball by hitting it over the net to the opponents court. A team is allowed to hit the ball three times (in addition to the block contact) to return it to the opponents court. A player is not allowed to hit the ball twice consecutively, except when attempting a block. The rally continues until the ball touches the ground/floor, goes “out” or a team fails to return it to the opponents court or commits a fault.

The volleyball point scoring is that the team winning a rally scores a point (Rally point System). When the receiving team wins a rally, it gains a point and the right to serve, and its player rotate one position clockwise.

Credit: http://news-poland.com/upload/news/168ppolish%20volleyball%20players.jpeg
The best of three or best of five games will win matches. Each non-deciding game will be won by the team that first scores 25 points with a minimum two point advantage (no scoring cap). If there is a deciding game it will be won by the team that first scores 25 points with a minimum two-points advantage (no scoring cap).

If you will try volleyball you would surely say that this is really an enjoyable game. A very interesting sport which will really make you enjoy.

BOXING: World's Favorite Sport

Many people enjoy watching boxing because they were really entertained by this sport. We can see that it's not only in the US but even all over the world people from different race love to watch this game and they even train their own player to join in this sport. As we try to look at it, we can say that boxing is “World's Favorite Sport”.

Credit: http://doroteos2.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/champs_boxing_jake.jpg
Boxing is a combat sport and martial art in which two people fight using their fists. Boxing is typically supervised by a referee engage in during a series of one-to-three-minute intervals called rounds, and boxers generally of similar weight. There are three ways to win; if the opponent is knocked out and unable to get up before the referee counts to ten seconds (a knockout or KO) or if the opponent is deemed to injure to continue (a technical knockout or TKO). If there is no stoppage of fight before an agreed number of rounds, a winner is determined either by the referee's decision or by judges' scorecard.

What is in the sport called boxing that almost of the people really enjoy watching it and they love to see their best player playing inside the ring. Like Manny Pacquiao, many people love to watch him play in the ring, not only his fellow Filipino but even people from different races became his fan and always watch him play. We know that he is the first WBO boxing Champion who got many winning titles. Maybe that's the reason why people like him. But not too much with that, my point of view is that, boxing is really a sport that attracts the peoples' attention and make them entertained and enjoyed.

Many player wants to win the game. They are trying to do their best and even finding ways and means in their training. Studying the opponents tactics and finding ideas on how to knockout the opponent. Their coach try to do all the best coaching he can in order for his player to win.

People who watch the game even just in television screen did not even notice that their feelings and emotion goes with the game. Some died in heart attack because of too much joy when their player wins, and become sad when their player is defeated.

How about you, is this your favorite sport? If so, just be careful not to get bad feelings whatever the result is. It may harm your health....
