Boxing is a combat sport and martial art in which two people fight using their fists. Boxing is typically supervised by a referee engage in during a series of one-to-three-minute intervals called rounds, and boxers generally of similar weight. There are three ways to win; if the opponent is knocked out and unable to get up before the referee counts to ten seconds (a knockout or KO) or if the opponent is deemed to injure to continue (a technical knockout or TKO). If there is no stoppage of fight before an agreed number of rounds, a winner is determined either by the referee's decision or by judges' scorecard.

What is in the sport called boxing that almost of the people really enjoy watching it and they love to see their best player playing inside the ring. Like Manny Pacquiao, many people love to watch him play in the ring, not only his fellow Filipino but even people from different races became his fan and always watch him play. We know that he is the first WBO boxing Champion who got many winning titles. Maybe that's the reason why people like him. But not too much with that, my point of view is that, boxing is really a sport that attracts the peoples' attention and make them entertained and enjoyed.

Many player wants to win the game. They are trying to do their best and even finding ways and means in their training. Studying the opponents tactics and finding ideas on how to knockout the opponent. Their coach try to do all the best coaching he can in order for his player to win.

People who watch the game even just in television screen did not even notice that their feelings and emotion goes with the game. Some died in heart attack because of too much joy when their player wins, and become sad when their player is defeated.

How about you, is this your favorite sport? If so, just be careful not to get bad feelings whatever the result is. It may harm your health....

The game is being played in a rectangular field of grass or in a green artificial stuff. The goal is in the center of each of the short ends. The object of the game is to score by driving the ball into the opposing goal. In general play, the goalkeeper is the only player allowed to touch the ball with his hand or arm while the field players use their feet to kick the ball into position, by using their torso or head to intercept a ball in mid air. The team that scores the most by the end of the match wins. If there is a tie between team at the end of the game, their should be a draw declared or the game should have an extra time or a penalty shootout, it depends upon the format of the competition.

GAME PROPER

Each team is led by the captain. The player other than the goalkeeper may not deliberately handle the ball with their hands or arms during the play though they do use their hands during a throw in restart. Although players usually use their feet to move the ball around, they may use any part of their bodies other than their hands or arms. With normal play, all players are free to play the ball in any direction and move throughout the pitch, though the ball cannot be receive in an offside position.

In typical game, players attempt to create goal-scoring opportunities through individual control of the ball, such as by dribbling, passing the ball to a teammate, and taking shots at the goal. The goal is being guarded by the opposing goalkeeper. Opposing player will try to regain control of the ball by intercepting a pass or through tacking the opponent in possession of the ball; however, physical contact between opponents is restricted. Football is a free-flowing game, with play stopping only when the ball has left the field of play or when play is stopped by the referee. After a stoppage, a play recommences with a specific restart.

Watching soccer/football is so entertaining and enjoyable kind of recreation.

COMPASSION

Terry DeGroote, 42 one of the former player of Aplington, when asked what he remembers most about CoachThomas, DeGroote answered without any hesitation. “COMPASSION” He had compassion for anybody, everybody—whether it was football,  whether it was school, whether it was in town.

LEADERSHIP

On May 2008, tornado devastated Parkersburg, he was instrumental in leading the town back from that disaster with his actions and his optimistic atitude.

FAITH and LEGACY

"His (LEGACY) for many will be associated with his tremendous success as a football coach," said Green Bay Packers linebacker Aaron Kampman. " However, I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a COMMITTED FOLLOWER OF JESUS CHRIST."

It's just the stuff that he taught every one of us, stuff that I'll never forget, Meester said in a statement, "The VALUE of HARDWORK, PRIDE in what you DO and just CARING about the guy beside you and that's what he did."

These are but just little things behind Coach Ed Thomas triumph but became great when he put it into practice.
